Jim Mao


Jim is a Partner of WestSummit Capital, a leading global technology growth capital firm. He has over 20 years of working experiences in private equity and technology sectors including enterprise software, Internet, mobile applications, digital media, intelligent hardware, advanced manufacturing/materials, medical devices and clean tech.

Prior to WestSummit, Jim was Managing Director of Cagan McAfee Capital Partners (CMCP), a leading technology focused PE firm based in Silicon Valley, with over $2B asset under management. At CMCP, he was responsible for some of the firm’s cross-border tech investments and business development activities in Asia Pacific area. Jim was instrumental in helping portfolio companies raising growth capital, formalizing effective business strategy and closing large M&A transactions. Previously, Jim ran cross-border investment as Partner at China Fortune Capital Group and Ruishite Capital.

Prior to that, Jim was an entrepreneur who was involved a series of startup companies in US and China as member of founding team or founder, and achieved successful exits, including Turin Networks (sold to Dell) and Ruizhi (streaming video technology), and Salira Networks (EPON system company). Jim was also a seasoned executive with experiences in both start-up and established international tech companies such as Advanced Fibre Communications (AFC) and Cortina Systems with senior management roles in both engineering and business.
